Get Imbadu - The Gathering to Afrikaburn 2020

Imbadu "the gathering" will be a giant wooden potjie pot that will host workshops where people gather and learn about different cultures. We plan on hosting live bands playing traditional music and theatre that is geared towards giving people an understanding of different ways people interact and celebrate their different heritage.

"Imbadu" (isiXhosa phrase meaning "The gathering"). The pot is meant to have sitting arrangement for people to sit inside. I plan on having activities inside one of which will be a demonstration on how to make an indigenous instrument called "Umrhubhe" (mouthbow) incorporated with a musical play. Let us know if this is something you'd like to be part of and let's make it happen.  

This amazing project needs help from it's community to help it get to Afrikaburn 2020 and donated funds will be used to assist the following:

Transporting construction materials, volunteers and artist to site 3-4 weeks prior to the event
Consumable materials like drills bits, jigsaw blades, etc.
Camping equipment and food for volunteers and artists
Artist fees for 2 x artists performing the opening and closing performances of Imbadu

This project is spearheaded by two long-time Afrikaburn veterans, Soulitude and Byron Boshoff, two beautiful souls who have given much of their time, love and energy transforming the desert for many years into a space of expression, exploration and connection for the many who venture out to Tankwa Town.
