Immigration and NHS Fees Appeal - Angie Mwafulirwa
Donation protected
Good morning.
I am approaching you on a personal basis today.
My family and I are in the process of renewing our leave to remain in this country. We do this every 2 and half years. The Home Office charges £1035 per year to cover NHS fees (total £2587.50) and £1048 for the immigration application itself. Then we need to pay for a biometric ID card for £139. All this comes to £3774.50 per person.
In my current situation (working for Sharpen Her as a volunteer), and in the absence of funding means we are not in a position to cover the cost. We managed to cover for our 3 children. For the remaining shortfall, we applied for a fee waiver, a gruesome process that has taken 4 months to submit evidence to prove that we cannot afford the fee. On the 31st of August, we received a decision refusing to help us.
We have been given 10 days to submit a paid application to the tune of £7549. We are looking to raise this amount in the next 5 days in order to submit our application in the given timeframe.
Ironically, in the same 4 month period I've worked hard and have been able to secure similar support for a vulnerable woman who has now gone on to make her application, thereby saving her £3,744.50.
Would you be able to help me raise this amount? This will enable us to extend our leave to remain in the UK.
Any support will be appreciated.
Thank you so much.
Angie.
