Immigration Fees and Getting Back on Feet
Donation protected
My name is Rivers Solomon and I'm fundraising for my application for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in the UK as well as for assistance getting back on my feet after three years of ongoing crises. If you are willing and able, your help would mean a lot to me and my family.
I live with my two beautiful children in England -- the only country my kiddos (8 and 3) have ever known as home. They are both citizens, but I'm currently here on a visa that only allows me to stay for chunks of time. This year, I qualify to apply for ILR -- which would essentially make me a permanent resident of Great Britain. Getting ILR would give me and my family much needed security as well as access to things we need to insure our survival.
I moved to the UK about seven years ago, but my situation unravelled very quickly, including having to flee an abusive housing situation. I was able to gain security in time through my writing, but the last three years have unleashed a series of personal setbacks that have threatened those gains, setbacks that include hospitalisation and severe illness.
Soon, I will be starting a new job as a Lecturer in Creative Writing and will continue to earn money through my work as an author, but right now, it's not enough. The next few months present a level of precarity that threaten our ability to stay housed.
£3200 is the portion required for the application for ILR. The remaining £11,800 covers monthly living expenses for two months (£5000) and help paying off debt accrued throughout the period of crises.
Thank you so much for reading, and I appreciate anything you are able to give.
