Imogen Roberts Recovery from Transverse Myelitis

Donation protected
October 2018 Imogen got a rare disease called Transverse Myelitis which resulted in loss of walking, standing and even being able to sit up.

Imogen was sent to the John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford where she received medical treatment and given physio straight away. Imogen reacted to the physio brilliantly learning to sit up in and afternoon which meant she could play with her toys again. Her right leg started to move again and has been regaining strength ever since. Over Christmas Imogen learnt to crawl and has been crawling better and better ever since.

In January Imogen was admitted to the Stoke Mandeville spinal unit where she received great physio making great progress with her walking going from strength to strength. Since this we are now down to one physio a week which regularly gets cancelled due to lack of staff and cut backs. We are having to wait for equipment and told this can take 6 months so have no other reason than to fundraise to give Imogen the best possible chance to walking she can.

Imogen is the most dedicated and hard working little girl you would meet. She gives it all her effort and has been smiling and laughing along the way and your help will help us to pay for a physio programme at Neurokinex in Hemel Hempstead and Gatwick. After having assessments they believe that all the physio will reboot the left leg and get the brain to remember walking.

This will allow Imogen the best possible chance there is to make a recovery and have a normal childhood once again.

Thank you for looking and I hope you can help Imogen.

I am Imogen's Mum Holly and am trying to do everything I can to help her.
