IMOGEN’S STORY
Imogen is a cherished mother, wife, sister, daughter, cousin, godmother, aunty and friend. A theatre producer.
And more recently, a Warrior.
Loving, tenacious, courageous, loyal, hilarious, fun, passionate, inspirational, positive, feisty, determined, bright, generous, brave, mighty, irrepressible, creative, caring, fabulous, compassionate, gracious, strong, fierce, resilient….quite simply, extraordinary. Simply the Best.
These are not just my words but those chosen by her friends.
Imogen was diagnosed with Stage 4 Bowel Cancer in March 2022 at the age of 42, after 6 months of having her symptoms dismissed by doctors. When the cancer was discovered it had progressed to her liver and treatment options were limited due to a KRAS mutation in her cancer cells. She has undergone 16 rounds of brutal chemotherapy, a high dose course of radiotherapy on her bowel, and a liver resection. However, just 4 weeks after her operation the cancer began to grow back and she was deemed inoperable and incurable by the NHS.
After 18 months of toxic treatments that have given her some debilitating side effects she travelled to Mexico at the end of October for a non-toxic therapeutic approach with the aim to reboot and reset her immune system and destroy the cancer stem cells.
Her cancer is agressive and she was combining her non-toxic therapy with an NHS drug called Lonsurf, which she started to combine with a private treatment, Avastin, only possible due to the funds raised to date.
Throughout her journey on this deeply unfair, cruel and aggressive disease she has been, unsurprisingly, extraordinary.
