Impact Jiu Jitsu Hillsboro- Recovery Fund
Donation protected
In the early morning hours of January 2, 2022 a fire was started that destroyed over a dozen downtown Hillsboro businesses.
It was a 4-alarm fire, with 90 firefighters present, and took over 12 hours to put out.
The fire has been deemed an arson, with the suspect in custody…
All it took was the ill-intent of 1 person.
1 person to start the fire, 90 others to put it out.
Among the businesses affected by the fire, was Impact Jiu Jitsu Hillsboro.
More than a business, and more than a gym, Impact Jiu Jitsu Hillsboro is a community. A sanctuary for some, an escape for others. For so many of it's members, it has been the one constant they could rely on. The one variable of which could be turned to through the turbulence of life.
A quick google search of the gym and you will be brought to a page with all the information one may utilize when deciding where to train. A little Jiu-Jitsu history, the classes offered, the schedule, etc.
You will see the address, and it will be wrong.
All that is left of the address is ash and debris.
There currently is no home for Impact Jiu Jitsu Hillsboro.
And the Owner/Head Instructor of Impact Jiu Jitsu Hillsboro? You can find information on him as well. A short list of his accolades and hobbies can be found but there’s a lot left out as well.
Richard Rangel has a list of accomplishments that are still outshined by the deeds he has done for others.
I do not think people train under Richard for the sake of training, alone. Richard is chosen to lead to the extent that he chooses his team members back. He has created a space for anyone to seek solace in. No matter who you are. No matter your age. No matter your profession or your wealth. Richard created a safe space for everyone to turn to.
And now that space is gone.
And the members displaced.
And it will take a lot to rebuild.
A lot of time. A lot of money. A lot of support and a lot of love.
It took 1 person to start the fire.
90 to put it out.
I am hoping that with this fundraiser, we can give the Impact Jiu Jitsu Hillsboro Community the numbers it will take to rebuild.
*100% of proceeds will go to the recovery of Impact Jiu Jitsu Hillsboro
