To friends in the community,

I am in a health and financial crisis and this fundraiser is to ask for your help.

Hurricane Ian wiped out my income from the Island Scene magazine for 2022 and 2023 and for an unknown period of time in the future.

The far greater challenge is a life-altering set of 12 dental surgeries over the past 10 months that has created extreme ongoing pain and made it very painful and difficult to talk. This is in addition to a serious chronic concussion syndrome that significantly limits my ability to drive.

Since moving to Sanibel Island in 1998 I have worked in the community as a journalist for Island Sun newspaper, pre-K teacher at Education Center for the Islands, youth tennis coach at Beachview, Realtor at VIP, and publisher of Island Scene magazine. After the hurricane I worked at Starz Italian Restaurant in Fort Myers.
