Piano Craft Gallery Flood Restoration and Reopening Support

Donation protected
The Piano Craft Gallery, Inc. a 501(c)3 nonprofit works to eliminate common barriers to accessing the arts such as race, education level, and class by guiding our operation through an anti-racist and inclusive lens. The Piano Craft Gallery, Inc. does this by sharing, promoting, and celebrating the work of racially, culturally, and socio-economically diverse artists of all abilities with the public. This results in diverse networks of individuals accessing the gallery space and experiencing the arts. The Piano Craft Gallery, Inc. provides a free, handicapped accessible venue in Boston where people can enjoy and learn about the diversity of art-making and performing in the Greater Boston area. Additionally, the Piano Craft Gallery, Inc. provides an affordable community venue for public and private events.

The Piano Craft Gallery, Inc. has been a 501(c) nonprofit since April of 2021, and has taken over the operations of the physical space from the previous organization, Gallery at the Piano Factory, which had operated the gallery space for over 40 years. The Piano Craft Gallery, Inc. is run exclusively by a dedicated and diverse team of nine volunteers, each with differing areas of expertise. The Piano Craft Gallery, Inc. hosts 18 art exhibitions per year and ensures that exhibiting artists represent the various cultures and backgrounds of the individuals residing in Boston and our surrounding communities. We schedule solo shows, groups shows based on themes, and provide educational opportunities for students studying art in our local universities and Boston Public Schools students. We also provide a venue free of charge or at a reduced rental rate for various cultural activities such as performances, lectures, workshops, and private events.

The Piano Craft Gallery is seeking funds to improve our facilities following a devastating flood to once again accommodate exhibitions, events, concerts, artist-talks, panel discussions, and lectures. Funds will be used to restore/replace the gallery equipment damaged by the flood.
