IMT's "Buy A Box" fundraiser

Hi Everyone.

Inverness Musical Theatre (IMT) is a local amateur theatre company and registered charity, based in Inverness. We have an incredible costume store at our disposal which is packed with nearly 100 years worth of props, costume and set, and is a marvelous asset for our company, but our costume store needs help!

This August, we started the mammoth task of clearing out, tidying up and reorganising our costume store. Part of this job is to replace all of the old, broken and tatty cardboard boxes that store our items with new and robust plastic boxes. We crunched the numbers and estimated that the cost of new boxes for the whole store will be in excess of £3000. Every pound that we spend on our storage solutions, takes away from our budget for this year's production; Singin' in the Rain, at Eden Court Theatre.

That is where you come in. We have started clearing out our store and boxing up costume, but there is so much left to do! Will you help us to buy our boxes to help us with our project?

IMT has been putting on shows for the local community since 1925 and continues to be a thriving and popular troupe. The positive benefits of being involved in theatre stretch far beyond the stage. It is where lifelong friendships are founded, communities are built, memories are made and opportunities for creative outlets and escapes from real life are provided. Not to mention the positive impact on overall physical and mental wellbeing for those involved.

IMT now put on one production a year, usually in the spring, and displays an incredible level of local skill and talent in every performance. Everything from props, costume, backstage crew, performers, musicians and choreography comes direct from Inverness and the surrounding areas. We are incredibly lucky to be able to perform on Eden Court Theatre's Empire Stage and to have our costume store resource to use and store our memories.

Many of the items in our store have been donated to us over the years, or handmade by the volunteers in our company. We want to respect that heritage and create a well organised, safe and sustainable space that will continue to provide for our company for many years to come.
