In celebration of the life of my mother- Ramona Bounds

Donation protected
Dear all,
In the morning on Friday, September 20th, 2024, my beautiful mother Ramona Ann Bounds took her last breath and left this world surrounded by some of her children and tons of love. She was 91 years old.

She was lucky to have been a mother of 8 children, grandmother to countless, and even a great-grandma to many. For me, she was my Mom-" Nana"- as many of us affectionately called her. She taught me some of the most fundamental lessons in my life: how to pop-start a car on the driveway, how to drive the DORF, how to roll my r's, how to be tenacious when you don't want to carry any more sprinkler pipes or buck one more bale of hay, how to be clandestine and dig up plants on the side of the road, how to be resistant to outside pressure, and how to survive adversity.

My Mom was a teacher to all. You could not escape her house without her imparting some of her wisdom about her latest plant blooming (who doesn't envy her many Christmas cactuses), or her latest rock acquisition. She taught kindness to animals, and tolerance- for all her and Julie's Chihuahuas. She taught Josh and I more lessons on survival than I care to share. She taught all the people that have crashed on her couch, called the bedroom theirs, lived in the smaller trailer, or camper, or trailer of their own- kindness- by having the place that everyone (even the people that were not family) can come to and be welcome. Her door was always open and it would be weird if you knocked.

I have so much more I could say about this little woman that gave birth to me…

My mother was very particular about a few things and unfortunately left some things undone. One of which was finalizing her plans. I think she felt like all of us and how I felt about her- that she was invincible. This moment where I find myself writing a GoFundMe for my mother is unreal. But here we are. I loved my Mom very much and therefore am doing all in my power to honor her wishes to be buried next to her mother. However I need help to make that happen. So I'm asking for that- help to pay for those expenses.

I am inviting all her family and friends to celebrate her life. The celebration will be as follows:
On October 5th, Saturday from 10am to 12pm there will be a viewing at the Memory Gardens Memorial Park and Mortuary; 1395 Arnold Lane, Medford, Oregon 97501.

At 1pm there will be a gravesite dedication at Scenic Hills Memorial Park; 2585 East Hills Drive, Ashland, Oregon 97520.

Directly following at 2pm, there will be a luncheon for family and friends at the Ashland Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints; 111 Clay Street, Ashland, Oregon 97520.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
