Bereavement Fund

Donation protected
My name is Ron Potter and I'm the husband of the late Anastasia Marie Potter who died in her sleep early Saturday morning, December 4, 2021.  I did not have a life insurance policy for my wife and I'm in need of financial assistance.  In the last 4 years I have lost my business and lost my job while enduring hardships involving the deaths of both my parents and the pandemic.  Now I've lost my wife.  Anastasia, also known as Staci, died at the young age of 41.

Your donations will help me cover funeral costs first and foremost, which can range $2000-$5000.  Medical bills have accumulated over time and any remaining funds will help me transition thru the bereavement.

Anastasia will always be remembered as a beautiful woman and friend.  She was my muse.  A true soulmate.  We were married October 28, 2018 and had first met in 2015 on a beach near Anna Maria, FL.  She was an amazing social butterfly with a cheery disposition.  This maybe could be said of many but what made it special about my wife was how cheery and positive she was while enduring chronic pain and chronic illness.

She had lupus, which is an auto-immune disorder.  When lupus flares, it attacks all organs.  One of my sisters also has lupus and because of it, spent months in a coma at an Orlando hospital.  This frightened my wife as she imagined that she could eventually go through something similar.  Staci would have a few good days or a few good weeks and then come upon a month where we would have to go to the ER multiple times.  The doctor appointments were many and exhausting.  The number of doctors were many and exhausting.  The medications and their side effects were difficult to deal with.  And the pandemic certainly didn't help as doctors became more difficult to deal with.

In addition to lupus, she was diagnosed with many other ailments and disabilities: advanced degenerative disc disease, rheumatoid arthritis, neuropathy, bipolar... and more.  In spite of it all, she was a blessing to me and did her best to be a blessing to others.  She consistently tried to be upbeat in private and in public.  She was an amazing combination of beauty and strength!  ...As if a rose could never wilt or its petals never fall.

I witnessed her faith grow as the years went by.  Her favorite song was by Amy Grant (In a Little While), and she enjoyed hearing me recite Bible verses.  I remember one time we were in a doctor's office and she was reading Bible verses from a computer screen saver and quizzing me on where to find them in the Bible.  She was so impressed and her smiles were so rewarding!

She struggled to keep the faith at times.  The journey was so difficult, and it got worse this year.  Doctors thought she had congestive heart failure at one time, thought she had COVID at another time, but kept arriving to the conclusion that her lupus was increasingly in attack mode.  They thought it would subside and never hinted at any impending doom.

Staci and I had recently listened to a minister's podcast who talked about embracing the short-term pain for long-term gain.  How sin is an easy choice and feels good at the time but has long-term consequences.  And how the right choices are difficult and may require some short-term pain but come with long-term gain.  It was one of her last Facebook posts.  She believed in God's forgiveness through Jesus Christ.  I believe she is in heaven with Jesus now.  Pain-free for eternity!  I'm confident she's in a much better place now, but I'm still overwhelmed with grief.

She leaves behind her son, Anthony Kisfalusi; her mother, Victoria Stewart; her father, Bob Stephenson; her sister, Kasi Stephenson; and our family dog, Samson.  I am shocked and hurt beyond words.  I cannot describe how painful it is to lose your spouse.  Please keep me and her family in your prayers.
