In Honor of Emanuel Gallegos

On Monday, February 25th Emanuel Gallegos was shot and killed on his way to get a haircut. This is another senseless killing, victim of senseless violence in our city. This gunman took a beautiful life, a life full of many great things that the future hold for him and others, a life who was beginning to flourish thanks to the up-growing of his family, a life that was here to help others, a life that will not be due to a gunman.
Emanuel was one of the most loving and heartwarming kids I have ever known. I remember a few weeks ago, we got hit with many inches of snow - there he was outside shoveling snow with his younger brother. They both help, so their Dad could rest. A remember not long ago when fall came along and there he was - raking leaves with his younger brother. I remember not long again in summer seeing him playing soccer with his friends. Emanuel was a tall kid that couldn't be missed but the most incredible feature was his smile.
I saw Emanuel grow up from the toddler running in the backyard to a young man with a future full of opportunities. He was one of the most loving and smart kids – he attended Northside College Prep and was planning to go to college. All this was taken away by a coward!
This gofundme is to help his family with the funeral expenses. Chicago please help this family and help put this coward gunman away – they don’t deserve to be out free.
