In honor of Emilio Salazar

Emilio Salazar passed away unexpectedly of heart complications late Wednesday night leaving behind his 10 year old son, Emiliano, his devoted partner, Erika and his beautiful step daughter, Elizabeth. It is truly gut wrenching to hear of a child unexpectedly losing a parent during the holiday season..but even more so when you know the kind of person and father he was. Emilio was an exceptional Father to his son and to his step daughter, Elizabeth. He was a great friend and was adored by anyone who crossed his path. He was just that kind of guy who left an impression on you, had you the opportunity to meet him. It has been an honor to have known him as a true friend and as a talented chef for many, many years. We will surely miss his Christmas tradition of making hundreds of tamales this year..I know the kitchen will be too quiet without the laughter he brought to us all. I can live with that..but I can't live with his children going without this Christmas. I can't live with their Mother tirelessly trying to pull finances together as she grieves her loss. So I ask you to find it in your hearts to help me in providing them a little help this holiday..they lost such a light in their lives..it is my mission to at least keep their Christmas lights on this season.
