In Honor of Joe Carpenter

Those of you who know Joe know he has fought pancreatic cancer for more than four years and early Tuesday morning, January 10, 2023, he accepted his journey had come to an end. Joe helped people and touched so many lives. Some of you served with him while he was a Navy corpsman serving as a medic for both the Navy and Marines, or worked by his side during his nearly 20 years at Essex, or most recently as part of the LA team he directed at EAH Housing. Some of you got your start in your careers from Joe, looked to him for support, and had many great laughs with him as he stood by his BBQ and cooked for everyone.
Joe leaves behind his wife, Minh of almost 30 years, whom he loved dearly. He would want this time to be as easy as it can be for her, a time when he can no longer be at her side and be the main source of financial support as he has been for so long. So, I am funding to support Minh and the many anticipated costs that come with the difficult life changes she must now make. We want her to make them knowing she has our support and we can all step in just little to help the way Joe would want.
Minh, Don, Sherry, and the family thank everyone who has reached out with emotional support, blessings and prayers, and stories. Every message is heard, they are needed and appreciated.
At the request of Joe's parents, Sherry and Don, there will be a celebration of Joe's life planned soon, on what would be Joe's 55th birthday, July 16, 2023 in Spokane, Washington. All are welcome. More information will come.
This is being written on Minh's behalf by Joe's family and friends.
