In honor of Leah Wright, a nest for Andrew

Our dear friend, Leah Porter Wright, age 46, of Ann Arbor, Michigan passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, October 15, 2023, after a short and tense battle with cancer. With great sadness and heavy hearts, we say farewell to our beloved Friend, Leah.

Leah was a beautiful, positive, talented, ardent and dedicated mother. Her son Andrew occupied a uniquely cherished spot in her heart. Leah's unwavering commitment to her son knew no limits, establishing an extraordinary illustration of maternal devotion. The deep connection they shared stands as a poignant testament to Leah's remarkable qualities as a nurturing and caring mother.

Leah's heart was drawn to spending time with Andrew, whether it was traveling, attending his sporting events or just making sure that he and his friends were able to spend time together. The laughter, love, and memories they created together were cherished beyond measure.

As we bid our farewells, we remember Leah not only for her extraordinary commitment as a mother, her deeply held beliefs in justice, equity, and diversity, but also for her vivacity, her creativity, and the love she shared with her family and friends.

Hours before Leah passed away, she shared some values and hopes in a journal that she wanted to share with Andrew. These hopes included continuing his commitment to baseball, travel and working hard in school.

Our hope is to help provide a new financial nest for Andrew so that he is able to continue to pursue his dreams as a young man growing up in a very complex world. This fund will help support Andrew in his sports, studies and exploration as he reimagines his life without his precious Mom.

We love you Andrew and we loved your Mom. We care for you deeply and will support you as you reach for all of your dreams and continue to represent your Mom in the values she taught.
