In Honor of Mike Cowgill

Donation protected
Friends and Family, it is with a heavy heart we open up a GoFundMe for my sister Terri Cowgill. Terri's husband Mike Cowgill passed away on October 29th after a long and brave battle with COVID among other complications. Over 49 days in the hospital has resulted in an enormous amount of medical bills and now pending funeral expenses. Mike was loved by all and many of you have reached out asking how they can help. Which is why I am starting this page to raise funds for my sister to ease the stress of the financial burden associated with this tragedy so she, and her daughters, can focus on healing after the passing of such a wonderful and very loved man in our family and community. Any amount you are able to contribute is appreciated and incredibly helpful. Thank you.

Ashley (Mike's daughter) has shared the following as well;

Mike was a son, husband, father, brother, uncle, friend, cousin, coach, Mr. C, PAPA, and SO MUCH MORE to so many people. He not only blessed his family with his time, love, kindness, compassion, and grace, but he also made sure to take care of anyone along his path that might have needed an extra push, hug or a little bit of hard truth. He loved his family, sports, and cooking for an army. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time in the mountains, especially if he could take his grandkids along for the ride.

As most know, Mike was diagnosed with COVID in early September. Through a lot of ups and downs, Mike spent 49 days total in the hospital battling COVID and the other struggles that accompanied the horrible virus. At one point, Mike had gotten rid of the COVID pneumonia that had taken over his lungs, and things were looking incredibly positive for a discharge a week or two later. Unfortunately, this story doesn’t end that way. Mike was then diagnosed with bacterial pneumonia, causing several issues to arise. Bacteria ended up getting in his bloodstream. He had been placed on several different steroids and antibiotics that wreaked havoc on his body. Ultimately, Mike ended up having to be put on a ventilator because his oxygen was not maintaining the way it needed to be. His blood pressure was becoming unstable, and his kidneys and liver began to decrease in function, among several other things that became present.

Ultimately, these series of events caused Mike’s body to become tired and worn down. He passed away on his 49th day in the hospital, on Friday, October 29th. This has left an immense hole in his family’s hearts and a void here on earth that can never be replaced. He leaves behind a wife, daughters, grandkids, nieces, nephews, and so many other friends and family members near and dear to his heart. This has caused a bit of a financial burden for his household. If you know anything about his sweet wife, Terri, she doesn't like to ask for help, so this is why we are setting this up for her. If you are able to help in any way to take some of the financial hardship off her plate, she would be eternally grateful. Thank you all so much for being such a huge part of the support system and the most incredible village.
