In Honor of our friend and Velcren John Kimbrough
Donation protected
Our Velcren brother John Kimbrough passed 9/30/24 after a one year battle with cancer. John spent his entire adult life taking care of others as a medevac nurse and then as a PICU nurse in New Jersey. John leaves behind an incredible legacy of helping others and now it's time to help his surviving family members, sons Jackson (11) and Buckley (13) and his wife Gretchen. I can't think of a better and more capable group of people than his Chasing Scratch family.
Throughout his battle, Johnny Courage, as his friends called him, continued to work until it became impossible. He would do chemo in the morning and work 3rd shift in the PICU unit. If anyone personified their nickname it was Johnny Courage.
Johnny had a huge heart and a razor sharp wit, both of which he shared with the ones he loved the most. He loved music and was amazing guitarist. He loved golf and nippy, spinny wedges, and he loved his Phillies. But more than anything he loved his family and he leaves an enormous hole in their lives. We by no means can fill that hole, but we can ease a little bit of their financial burden by doing giving anything we can.
