Loving Memory of Senior Officer Vicente Ortiz Jr. EOW 6-1-24

This GoFundMe is created to support Senior Officer Vicente Ortiz Jr., a 15-year veteran of the Corpus Christi Police Department, a proud husband, and father of two amazing children.

On Tuesday, May 21st, Vicente was providing a police motorcycle escort for a funeral procession on Kostoryz Road. When a driver cut through the procession just as Vicente was moving up to his next intersection position. This action caused Vicente to collide with the vehicle, resulting in him being ejected from his motorcycle. Vicente sustained major injuries in the accident and was undergone treatment at Spohn Shoreline.

It is with a tremendously heavy heart that I have to announce that on the early morning of June 1st. Senior Officer Vicente Ortiz Jr. succumbed to the injuries sustained in the line of duty. He is mourned by his wife of 26 years, daughter, son, family, friends, police department family, and the community.
