In honor of the life of Malachi McCloud

On January 20th, my good friend Shannon Holmes received the news that no mother should hear…that her 23 year old son Malachi McCloud had passed away. Every parent’s worst nightmare became her reality in a matter of seconds. In addition to Shannon, this loss is being grieved by his entire family which includes grandparents, sisters, brother, many aunts and uncles, too many cousins to count, and friends.

Malachi was a kind hearted, intelligent young man. He lived life on his own terms and stood up for what he believed to be right and to be true. He was loyal, loving, and would always bring a smile to people’s faces. He could also be counted on to eat you out of house and home every visit. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. The family mourns but holds on to the belief and faith that he is at peace and smiling down as he is surrounded by loved ones who have gone before him, most importantly, his father who was in no doubt waiting with open arms.

As Shannon and the family are grieving, they could use our help in raising money to pay for funeral costs. Funds raised will lessen the financial load in planning a beautiful service and a burial that honor his life. Shannon’s desire is to lay him to his ultimate rest next to his father in Florida.
