In Honour of Kira DeBoer (Lawson)

Hello all - our dear friend and teammate Kira DeBoer (Lawson) was diagnosed with terminal cancer a few short months ago and has sadly passed away as of November 16th. This page is for those that would like to join us in sending support to her husband Jesse, son Callen along with her family during this difficult time.

Kira has always been an adventurous soul with a ready smile that lights up a room. She possesses a quiet grit and inner strength that has allowed her to pursue and obtain various callings - she is a world traveler, a former Canadian wilderness firefighter, is a licensed massage therapist, and with only a few months from completion of her degree in Osteopathy Kira wrote her exams and aced them and was presented an honorary degree.

Most of us can remember her collegiate years spent as a rock solid (literally, she was made of granite) pillar of the Louisville Cardinal rowing team, where her innate friendliness and kindness put everyone who met her at ease, and her sense of humor and fun guaranteed there was never a dull moment.

Our goal with this fundraiser is to help her family commemorate her legacy in the manner they deem best. While it is impossible to erase the tragedy of a life cut short, we hope to provide Kira’s loved ones with a means of memorializing her life and beautiful spirit.
