In Honour of Sonia

Hello, my name is Nicole Badesha, and I am fundraising in honour of my late sister-in-law, Sonia Dhaliwal. On December 23rd, 2023, Sonia took her life.

Sonia’s passions in life included cooking, playing and watching sports, pop culture, and spending time with her family and friends. Sonia was known to light up a room with her smile and personality. She was also a woman who experienced complexities and suffering with her own mental health concerns.

In honour of Sonia, our family would like to fundraise and donate to an organization close to our hearts, the Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention of BC (CISP). Our goal is to help others who have experienced similar life challenges as Sonia did. Although we can look at suicide as an individual experience, suicide affects the entirety of the individuals family circle. CISP focuses on encompassing support and education to the loved ones of those who have died by suicide. This organization aims to support and normalize individuals who are struggling with suicidal ideation and intent.
