In lieu of gifts, please help us with the wedding

Hello friends and family,

As our wedding draws near, as always happens with these things, surprise costs are threatening our ability to do this with success. Here I will explain why we prefer cash gifts, why it is needed, what we would use it for, and how we would thank those who donate.

WHAT WE ASK:

Our love has already brought us so many gifts, so rather than buying us gifts for the wedding we ask instead to kindly make a donation towards the wedding fund. This would be a major blessing in order to assist us in having a wonderful gathering together to celebrate the beginning of a lifetime of love.

WHY WE PREFER THIS:

We do not need nor want more physical gifts, as we do not have much space for many more things in our home.

WHAT THE MONEY'S FOR:

The venue is a private home in the woods, and after review we must rent a bathroom trailer for everyone's comfort at the venue - As we would have been down to a single toilet for 100 people! To avoid the discomfort of porta potties, we would like to rent a bathroom trailer which is far more sanitary - But they are at minimum a few hundred dollars.

With the venue potentially requiring a fee coming up, the need to buy rather than craft several accessories for our bridal parties, the need to rent a commercial kitchen for a day to safely prepare all the food in time… There are many surprise costs.

WHY WE NEED THIS:

The reason why we must ask is because both TooDelz and I have discovered that our jobs do not offer ANY paid time off. That was upsetting to discover after our modest honeymoon was already booked.

We weren't able to cover these surprises when it was revealed we got NO tax returns this year (a few grand we were counting on), then car repairs, then sudden medical costs with health issues… Oof.

HOW THIS HELPS:

We are asking our community for help so we can avoid taking out a personal loan to cover all these expenses we expected to be able to pay for ourselves. Going into debt at the beginning of a marriage isn't a great start.

WHEN YOU GIVE:

That said, no one is expected to donate but it would be extremely appreciated. Whether you are able to attend or not, if you're willing to wish us well financially you would help make our dreams come true.

Anyone who chooses to contribute will receive a personalized thank you with some of our wedding photos and will have their names written on our bride/groom centerpiece at the wedding so you will be close to our hearts!
