Grandpa Dude

I am writing this with a heavy heart due to the very unexpected passing of my father Darrell Gene DeWees, on March 18, 2023, at the young age of 63.

He was and always will be remembered as an amazing Father, Brother, Grandpa, and Friend. He leaves behind 6 kids, 14 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, that he devoted his life to everyday and loved very much.

He was known to most as Grandpa Dude. His love for his grandchildren and all of the younger upcoming generations was a pleasure to witness. He always spoke the truth and was a fountain of knowledge to all around him. He never stopped caring no matter the hour.

He was a single father very early in life. Growing up we were never wealthy, but always secure knowing he was there for us. With his humor, sarcasm and tough love he was always able to get us through the hard times. He never stopped being a true confident man with the best intensions for us kids.

My father was and always will be more than we could ever be able to explain to anyone. I can talk for hours about my Father, but that is not why I'm here as well as it is extremely painful and difficult for me to talk about. My siblings and I would like to put our Father to rest. As we were not expecting his passing, it does come with a financial responsibility that we are unable to meet alone. He deserves the best. We are hoping to be able to give him the honor and the respectable resting place this great man deserves.
