In Loving Memory: Gabriella Valadez
Donation protected
On August 12, 2020, an incredible mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend lost her fight to COVID-19. Gabriella Valadez or Gaby to her family and friends, peacefully left us to join her two sons, Javier and Jason in heaven. At 68, Gaby was a vibrant grandmother and mother involved in the daily lives of her daughter and grandchildren. She took great pride and was looking forward to many more years in her role as the matriarch of her family.
On April 29th , Gaby, a health care professional was diagnosed, after caring for her elderly patient who was infected with COVID-19. She was hospitalized on May 6th, intubated on May 12th and began a three-month battle with the disease.
Despite the best and valiant efforts of the staff at UCLA Ronald Reagan MICU, Gaby was unable to overcome the illness. While Gaby remained hopeful of her recovery, the hospitalization was unexpected. Unfortunately, Gaby left little in the way of preparations or formal arrangements for funeral services.
As a devout Catholic, Gaby's daughter Cindy would like to provide her a traditional mass and burial. It is with great hope that during this most difficult time for the Valadez-Barragan Family, we can offer to support their effort in providing a funeral worthy of Gaby's legacy.
As it would for any family the financial commitment for this can be overwhelming. Funeral services are set for August 29 and any contribution would be greatly appreciated by all in her life.
