In loving memory: Karen Eldridge

Hello, everyone,

My name is Chemaiyah, and I'm reaching out with a heavy heart to share our family's story. On Monday January 15th, 2024 our beautiful mother passed away unexpectedly due to a medical emergency. Her absence has taken a toll on my brothers and I. She leaves behind 4 children, Me and my 3 younger brothers which will now be in my care.

I am currently a senior at A&T entering my final semester. I am all set to graduate in May but with my mother’s passing this has complicated things. She recently moved to California with my younger brothers. With her passing in California we are faced with the burden of having to transport her back to her hometown in Brunswick County, North Carolina while also trying to get my siblings back home as well. 

Our mom was the heart and soul of our family, and her passing has created both emotional and financial challenges for us. Life won't be the same without her hugs, her advice, and just having her around. As the oldest sibling, I have the responsibility to ensure my younger brothers have the support they need to navigate this tragedy.

Together, let's honor my mom's memory and provide some comfort for our family as we face an unexpected future without her.
