In Loving Memory of Abraha Araya

It is with deep sadness we announce the untimely passing of Abraha Araya. Abraha passed away on February 11, 2022 in Washington D.C.

Abraha was a beloved member of the Eritrean community. He was raised in Geza Kenisha and later Enda Taba. He was a devoted soccer player, playing with Mercato early on and then Emba Soyra before becoming a member of the Ethiopian National Team from 1966-1972. Abraha left his beloved Eritrea in the early 1970s, residing in Israel and Italy before settling in Washington D.C. in 1976. Abraha's family was the joy of his life. He is survived by his beloved wife Lemlem, and their four children, Tarik, Abeselom, Dawit, and Paulos.
