In Loving Memory of Adam McKillican
Donation protected
Thank you all for your love and prayers through this challenging time.
It saddens us deeply to share that Adam McKillican passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2024. We are heartbroken and devastated by this loss, but are so thankful that he went peacefully and without any pain. Adam was surrounded by his family and loved ones for the last few days of his life, and that is all anyone can ask for.
To know Adam is to love Adam. He truly is and will forever be one of the good ones; endlessly generous with his affection and care. He would have been overwhelmed with emotion to see the response of the community around him.
We are still collecting donations, should you want to contribute to Adam’s medical expenses or celebration of life, and will be announcing service details soon. We have been humbled by the heartfelt response and all of the love that’s been poured over Adam and his loved ones during this time. Thank you again for all the support you’ve shown him and our family throughout this time, we know he felt each and every one of your thoughts and prayers. We will love Adam always and his silly smile and big bear hugs will be missed each and every day. Words cannot describe the loss his family is experiencing, but we know he is looking over us, waiting to catch the next best wave.

We ask you, friends and family of Adam McKillican, to help Adam through his current fight for his life.
As many of you know, Adam underwent open heart surgery a year ago to correct the hereditary malformation of his aortic heart valve. Though Adam overcame this surgery and made a quick recovery, the event wasn’t without its losses. Specifically, Adam and his wife, Kelly, took on some hard financial losses through this time. In addition to the medical costs associated with such a serious surgical intervention and the subsequent rehabilitation, Adam had to close his chiropractic practice’s doors for three months. Always the hard worker and helper, Adam simply could not perform his job while recovering. He and Kelly had to make the hard decision to close and simply absorb the business’s ongoing costs in order to ensure later success.
Although this past year has gone well overall, unfortunately, we are not in the same circumstance at present.
About a week ago, Adam was rushed to the hospital in the middle of the night because of a fast-onset, very, very high fever. As it turns out, he had contracted a serious infection and it was not only causing this high fever and cognitive suppression, but was seriously damaging the function of most of his other organs, as well as his vascular system. Despite the wonderful CMH team’s interventions, Adam’s infection persisted and spread to his heart, attaching itself to his year-old heart valve. As it is, Adam is fighting for his life at USC Keck Hospital awaiting yet another open heart surgery trying to overcome multiple other complications.
The financial plan for last year’s intervention didn’t include a fall-back for a repeat event. All we want to do, as a family, is get Adam back to his healthy and happy self. He’s been everyone’s biggest supporter his whole life-long, offering his help and his care every step of the way. We ask that you consider showing your care for Adam in any way that you can. We want to find a way to keep Adam’s chiropractic practice alive while allowing him the time he needs to recover from this major surgery. His practice is his life’s work; all he wants is to wake up each morning and help people while easing their pain and discomfort. If you can volunteer any small donation, you will be helping keep Adam’s practice alive and running until he can return to work, and you will be helping keep Adam and Kelly's financial lives afloat during this hard time. We thank you for your prayers, well wishes, and donations.
If you can please share this fund with anyone who may know and love our amazing Adam, please do.
