In Loving Memory of Alfred Bland

My family is mourning the passing of Alfred Bland. Alfred passed suddenly and unexpectedly on March 19, 2021 in New York City.  We are heartbroken. Alfred was everything a father, uncle, brother, and husband could be. The joy of life poured out of him and he shared that joy with everyone he met. I believe it was that appreciation of the joy and fleetingness of life that fueled he and his twin brother Albert’s passion for photography. It is in this way that the two commonly referred to as the Twins became the archivists and storytellers of my family. Alfred’s story has come to a close and we would like to celebrate his life and support those he left behind.

We hope to raise contributions toward his funeral expenses and transport to Georgia, as he wanted to be laid to rest next to his beloved brother Albert, who passed before him.  The funeral home is not accepting flowers during this time. In lieu of flowers, we are asking that people donate here.  If there are additional funds, these will go to his family to support them during this very difficult time. Any amount can help and will be appreciated.
