In Loving Memory of Althea Nelson

On the evening of November 21st, our family has been shaken to its core by devastating and heartbreaking news. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved family member Althea Nelson. She has been battling a number of health issues, including hydrocephalus, tethered spinal cord syndrome, and scoliosis, since birth and has continued to fight throughout all her life. Despite the burden of her illnesses, Althea lived her life to the fullest and was a ray of light that radiated across the hearts of all people she has ever come into contact with. Although her light has dimmed, her bright and vibrant spirit will continue to shine through the treasure trove of memories she has shared with us.

Althea leaves behind her daughter, granddaughter, mother, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, and an array of family and friends which whom she showered with unconditional love. In honor of her memory, we are asking you to help us ensure that we give her the proper send-off she deserves. There will be a memorial service in her home state of New York where afterward she will be sent off to Florida to be laid in her final resting place next to her grandmother. As you can imagine, the financial burden of this funeral has weighed heavily on the family, and we ask for any and all support as we continue to process and work through the grief during this difficult time.
