Anton Walkes 1997-2023

This page has been set up by Anton’s family and close friends to enable his legacy to live on.

Anton was a son, a brother, a father, a grandson, a nephew, a friend and a teammate who

was sadly taken away from us when he was involved in a tragic accident in Miami, Florida.

on the 19th January 2023.

A few words from Anton’s family - “Anton was the light of our family; he helped out a lot of

people that crossed his path and was such a caring young man with a big heart! Anton

was always strong-willed and knew exactly where he wanted to go. He achieved so many

things that he had worked SO hard for and has touched so many hearts. He will always be

an inspiration to our family and the whole world!”

Away from his success on the pitch as a great footballer, Anton had already begun to make plans with some of his close friends and family. The funds raised will ensure that these plans will be put into action.

Anton had a huge heart, a great vision and his love for other people knew no bounds. We all

know that he was the person that took care of everybody and as a result, we would like to

carry on these plans as a way of keeping his name and legacy alive.

Anton was very proud to be born and raised within the Lewisham community and would want to give other people, less fortunate, similar opportunities. With this in mind, some of the money raised will be donated to ensure that locals are given a chance to make a better

future for themselves whilst keeping Anton’s legacy alive.

Being part of the Lewisham community gave Anton the best start to his amazing career and he would want to know that he had, in some way given something back. We will all draw on Anton’s unprecedented passion, focus and determination to achieve these goals so that his memory will always live on.

Thank you to all who have taken the time to read and contribute to this page. The AW 5 is alive Foundation will be set up, and all donations will be deposited into it. A website will also be set up in Anton’s name so we can share updates on how the money raised is helping get these projects up and running.
