In Loving Memory of Archbishop Olubunmi Ige

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Proverbs 31:10, 25-28
Archbishop Olubunmi Ige was a missionary who went to where many could not go. A strong and virtuous woman. A mother to 5 children 2 adopted children, and 17 grandchildren. She was a mother, sister, aunty, friend, mentor, and confidant to so many.
Archbishop Olubunmi Ige was a selfless woman, who gave sacrificially to everyone she encountered. She gave her time, her money, her love, and her strength to everything she did. She was the embodiment of God’s grace and mercy.
Olubunmi was an humanitarian and the founder of International Women Ministers Organisation (IWMO), an organisation that trained, mentored, and encourages women to become more by equipping them with the tools and skills they need to fulfil their full potentials, and Trinity Evangelical Apostolic Mission (TEAM), a mission that provides support and accommodation for able and disabled children and young adults.
TEAM Respite and Special Needs Centre first started in 2011 in Ondo-State Nigeria organised by IWMO UK Chapter. The initial intention of the centre was to provide a weekly respite for women looking after children and young adults with disabilities. Due to the cultural discrimination of disabled children and young adults, the Respite has had to change locations several times. Also as transporting the children proves difficult in areas where the roads are in states of disrepair, the children were being left at the mission. The decision was made to make the respite a permanent resident for these vulnerable children and young adults due to the demand. The mission has grown incredibly in the 11 years since the respite programme started.
As the Founder of both IWMO and TEAM, Olubunmi has worked tirelessly to organise teams of like-minded people to set up IWMO and TEAM respite in different countries in Africa and in India. Her sudden death has been a shock to everyone connected to her, most especially her children and the children she takes care of in the respites.
This GoFundMe has been set up to give her a befitting burial and to continue the work she has started. So many lives depend on the continuation of these respite accommodations and the training of young women to give them the chance of a better future.
Every donation will be gratefully received with thanks, and may the Lord honour your labour of Love.
