In Loving Memory of Archie Reyes

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Arturo O. Reyes, beloved father, grandfather, and husband. Archie returned to his heavenly home on Saturday January 2, 2021 after battling with COVID-19 and other health complications. He was a light in this world, and incredibly admirable in the way he showed love, kindness, and selflessness to everyone he encountered.
"Irog" Archie as he is known to the love of his life, "Giliw" Tess never missed an opportunity to show and say how much he loved her.
Growing up an only child, I've always thought “how did I get so lucky to always be the center of my parents world”? Little did I know that would shift upon the birth of my own two children, Nicholas & Mikayla. Together with my mom, they were the best grandkid spoilers, babysitters, and their biggest supporters.
Photographer extraordinaire. Art through photography was his passion. He had an incredible knack and an artistic perspective of the world around him. Not a shortage of chronicles of life events to cherish and look back on.
Avid line dancer and instructor. After his retirement from Brookdale hospital, he discovered joy in dancing and a new way to stay active. The tandem "Irog & Giliw" are synonymous with line dancing. They have graced many dance floors and are known in the Filipino and church communities in Queens, Brooklyn and Jersey City.
Music man. He struck guitar strings and played black and white ivory keys without ever knowing how to read a single musical note. Amazing, right?
I can continue to list a myriad of things of how exceptional this human being was, who I simply call my Papa. I will miss everything about him dearly. I take solace in merely looking in the mirror and smile, seeing a glimpse of his reflection looking back at me.
We decided to create this GoFundMe to provide financial support towards all funeral costs and related expenses to get through this extremely difficult time.
