In loving memory of Avinash Agrawal

My father Avinash Agrawal was the bravest man that I have ever met.

He is a loving father that has been providing for me and the rest of my family for most of his life. He was a great husband and father and always put the needs of his family before his. Everyone who has met him loved him, respected him and wanted the best for him. He never once did something for himself without keeping us in consideration.

In the past year, he developed a condition in his throat that was related to acid reflux. This caused him enormous pain in his neck where he couldn't focus on doing the things that he loved. Along with that, he also battled an addiction to tobacco cigarettes. All of the medical attention he was receiving did not relieve him of the pain, nor was it getting him closer to feeling normal again. This all led to him being in a place where he wanted nothing but to feel better.

We have recently all moved to Burnaby, BC to support my academic endeavours to attend UBC. We moved on the 1st of September in hopes that we would all lead better lives and receive more care for him. He has not been able to work ever since the move because of the extreme medical condition.

On the morning of September 17th, my mom and I woke up and couldn't find him in the house. After attempting to contact him for an hour, we decided to call the police. They informed us later in the day that they found him in a river. This broke all of our hearts and has left us in a place with a lot of uncertainty.

We tried our best to stay with him and comfort him but in the end, he found death to be an easier option. It pains me to write this but in a time like this, we need support.

This money will go towards covering crematorium costs, other fees that will need to be paid along with supporting us with the difficult and trying times we approach.
