In Loving Memory of Beautiful 14 year old Sayuri Jade Ruiz

On April 20, 2024, tragedy struck our family in the most unimaginable way. Our beloved 14-year-old little cousin, Sayuri Jade Ruiz, was taken from us far too soon in a senseless act of violence. Sayuri's bright smile, infectious laughter, and compassionate heart touched the lives of everyone around her.

That evening, Sayuri was picked up and was suppose to spend the night at a well known friend’s house. Sayuri's mother, Amanda, was trusting that she would be safe in the care of her friend's parents. However, unbeknownst to Amanda, Sayuri and her friend ventured an hour away to another house. It was there that the events took a devastating turn.

At approximately 8:47 p.m., authorities received a distressing 911 call reporting a shooting at the residence. Upon arrival, deputies found Sayuri, our beautiful angel, with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Tragically, they also discovered 17-year-old Hector Pfeiffer, her killer, who also took his own life shortly after.

The details of that night are haunting and incomprehensible. Sayuri, with her whole life ahead of her, was robbed of her future in an act of senseless violence. Our hearts ache for Amanda, who now faces the unimaginable task of saying goodbye to her precious daughter. Her first born. No mother should ever have to experience this unbearable pain.

In the wake of this tragedy, we are coming together as a family to support Amanda and her husband in laying Sayuri to rest. We have created this GoFundMe with the hope of easing the financial burden of funeral expenses during this heartbreaking time.
