In loving memory of Ben Pepper

On the 27th September 2023, Ben Pepper loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend took the devastating decision to take his own life.

Ben would be described as always being the life and soul of a party, living life to the full and he had the ability to light up any room with his cheerful presence.

Ben was a family man, a loving husband and a wonderful dad to his two beautiful girls, Phoebe and Nola. He absolutely loved being a dad and absolutely adored his girls.

Things became difficult for Ben towards the end of 2022 and his family and friends tried desperately to guide him onto the right path, together with the support of the NHS, unfortunately it became very difficult to source the care Ben so desperately needed, with recourses pushed to the limit.

Unfortunately into 2023 Ben’s mental health continued to rapidly deteriorate and it became clear he couldn’t see any other way out.

Despite the help, love and support Ben received from family and friends he became consumed.

Everyone’s overwhelming support and generosity to help has been incredible. Which is what leads us to this page.

As a family we have thought long and hard about something everlasting in Ben’s memory and we have decided that we would like to have a memorial bench made in his honour. With this in mind, we have made the decision to not have funeral flowers and instead ask for contributions towards the memorial instead if you wish.

We hope that this bench will become somewhere for people to go and remember Ben, maybe sit and have a chat and remember the good times.

St Helens woods would be our preferred choice of location, it holds fond memories of Ben’s younger years for both his mum and now for his own little family, Gemma and the girls Phoebe and Nola.

As a family they would often go for walks through the woods and this brings happy memories, that will always be treasured.

Ben had lots of friends and there were many, many happy times over the years, before he became unwell.

Ben had one of those infectious laugh’s, that once you heard it, it could not be forgotten!

It’s a difficult time not only for Ben’s family and immediate friends but the wider friendship groups too.

Ben will be forever missed, he leaves a huge hole in so many hearts.
