In Loving Memory of Bobby Rivers

Hi, my name is Betsy Rivers. I am Bobby's little sister. I've been trying to figure out how to get the money for his medical bills and his cremation, when some of his friends suggested a GoFundMe page to help pay for expenses. That is what this is for.

Bobby had been going through chemo for the past three and a half years. He didn't tell anyone, although he continued being is usual jovial self and worked for Turner Classic Movies up until the end. The cancer spread to his lungs, and an MRI revealed that he had suffered a few mini strokes on top of it. He had an infection in his blood and urine that was not helped by antibiotics, and there was nothing else the doctors could do but make him comfortable and let nature take its course. On December 26, 2023 he gave up the good fight and passed on. He was my roommate, and I keep expecting to see him walk through the apartment door. It breaks my heart that he is gone.

We do not have a memorial date set up yet. I figured after the cremation, that could be arranged. I am recovering from spine surgery at the end of October and have not been able to pour through Bobby's things the way I would like to. Forgive me for not having a memorial service sooner.

Bobby is also survived by his younger brother Tony and is cousin Alonzo. Please keep them in your prayers.
