In Loving Memory of Bubba Rhoades

Donation protected
We are extremely saddened and still in shock at the sudden passing on November 9th, 2022, of “Everybody’s Best friend” Bubba Rhoades. Bubba was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed. He touched the lives of so many. Bubba went above and beyond to help anyone who needed it. It’s our turn to give back to his family in their time of need. We are raising money to support his family and cover the costs of cremation and related expenses. Whatever you can donate will be deeply appreciated.

Bubba’s celebration of life will be held on what would have been his 55th birthday, December 3, 2022, 12:00 Noon at:

The Shoppes of Chino Hills
(corner of Grand Avenue & Peyton Drive)
13920 City Center Drive
Chino Hills, CA 91709

The celebration will take place in the old H&M/Spirit Halloween store, located across the street from the splash fountain.

Bubba had gone to the eye doctor for a follow-up after cataract surgery. The eye doctor said his body showed signs of an infection and said he needed a blood test. When Bubba got up to leave, he fell to his knees. Linda took him to the ER, where it was discovered he had sepsis. The infection had found its way to his heart and two of the valves were highly infected. His heart was only pumping at 15%. Doctors are unable to determine where the infection came from. Other tests revealed that he had several strokes, some possibly 2 weeks prior, but he showed no symptoms. Despite multiple antibiotics and treatments, his health continued to decline. After two “code blues” and two shocks to his heart, no brain activity was found. His wife Linda of 30 years, his daughter Ariel, his son Hunter and a few family members were by his side as his heart took its last beat.

Bubba always had a smile on his face. He was gentle, loving, caring, kind, and always going out of his way to show up for anyone he called friend. He never missed a family get-together and brought so much joy and laughter to all. He was the best husband, amazing Dad, fantastic brother, wonderful son, greatest uncle, caring cousin, above & beyond co-worker and funniest forever friend. He is truly missed.

The following is a Memo from his co-workers at the Shoppes at Chino Hills - Dunhill Properties
It is with great sadness we need to inform you that Bubba Rhoades, the Chief Engineer for The Shoppes at Chino Hills, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. Bubba has been a fixture at The Shoppes since the property opened in 2008, helping tenants and the community. There hasn’t been an event or an incident in the history of the Shoppes that Bubba wasn’t a part of or responsible for, and he loved being a part of this community. From the Fire Department’s Car Show to the Wine Walk to the Annual Tree Lighting to his favorite holiday, Halloween, Bubba was proud to participate and contribute to the success of the event and to our community. On top of his contributions, Bubba was a friend to all and best described as a human teddy bear who cared deeply for all people and all things Chino and Chino Hills.

Bubba will be missed, and we are trying to raise money to help the family pay for the cremation and related expenses; whatever you can donate will be appreciated. Bubba is survived by his wife, Linda and two children, Ariel and Hunter. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they mourn the loss of their beloved husband and father.
