In Loving Memory of Calvin "Dr. Cal" Hogue
Donation protected
Calvin Hogue, 70, of Rochelle Park, formerly of the Bronx, NY, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025.
Calvin, born in the Bronx NY on July 18, 1954, was a beloved father of three, and grandfather of two. He was the mentor and friend of many. He was an extremely loving, hilarious, wise, talkative and outgoing man. He was a true minister of the gospel and an evangelist at every opportunity. He earned an honorary doctorate as an ordained minister of the gospel.
Known as “Dr. Cal” he was a skilled and gifted musician, who played the guitar (bass/acoustic/electric), piano, and drums. He was a prolific songwriter and had a captivating singing voice. He also had great art skills in drawing (both realistic and cartoon) and painting.
He loved the Lord more than anything and he loved and missed his late wife Yvonne in his final years. He had a tender heart for all of those around him and was extremely generous with his time
and resources and never turned a blind eye to a soul in need.
He called everyone he mentored his “children,” yet he never lacked the time or words to pour into his natural children. He lived to honor God and was not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. His silly sense of humor, his verbose and spontaneous sermons, as well as his infectious joy will be missed by many, dearly.
The family is in need of funds to cover funeral and burial costs. Gifts in any amount will be greatly appreciated.
