In Loving Memory of Choua Vang
Donation protected
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved sister, Choua Vang, on April 9, 2025. She left us peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones, after a courageous two-month battle with stage 3 ovarian cancer.
Choua was diagnosed in February after noticing unusual swelling in her stomach. A large cyst was discovered, leading to emergency surgery and the devastating news of cancer. Despite the pain, delays in chemo, and her body’s inability to tolerate food or water, Choua fought bravely until she chose hospice care just two days before her passing.
Although Choua’s departure has been tragic and unexpected, we hope that you all also remember Choua for her resiliency and love and care for others. Choua had just graduated from Fresno City College’s Registered Nursing Program in December 2024. Her dream was to work in hospice, pediatric oncology, or NICU—roles she deeply understood and cared for. She previously worked as a CNA at Valley Children's Hospital and Orchard Post Acute, medical assistant, an extern at Clovis Community Medical Center on the telemetry floor, and was a proud 2023 recipient of the Hmong Nurses Association scholarship. Her strength and compassion touched many.
We are raising funds to honor Choua with a traditional Hmong funeral—a meaningful and sacred ceremony to guide her spirit to our ancestors. Donations will help cover funeral expenses. If it is easier, you can also send your donations via Venmo (@Kassy-Vang).
Thank you for your love, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
