Dear friends, loved ones, and compassionate souls:

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of our mother, Christine Daniels. Her sudden departure has left us all deeply saddened, and we are immensely grateful for the love and support we have received during this challenging time.

On October 4th, life took an unimaginable turn as Christine and her family learned that her health insurance had been terminated due to a delayed payment thanks to the postal service. Despite every possible argument, we were unable to reinstate her medical coverage prior to her hospitalization that same day.

Originally, Christine was admitted for pneumonia and a potential secondary infection that had caused her to become septic; however, her one night of observation quickly turned into a three-week-long nightmare of a hospital stay as she was transferred to the ICU at 3:00 am on October 7th (mere hours after her younger daughter's 34th birthday came to a close) and placed on a ventilator for three days.

Even after successfully being taken off the ventilator on Tuesday, October 10th, Christine struggled to recover as the damage to her lungs became more and more evident to her doctors and family. On behalf of her loved ones, Christine fought to overcome her surmounting lung-related medical issues; however, that was a battle no amount of love, time, or medical expertise would ultimately win.

On October 23rd (20 days after being hospitalized), Christine passed peacefully surrounded by music and those who loved her best.

Christine was not just an amazing mother and grandmother; she was the heart and soul of our family. Her smile, spirit, laughter, and love touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. She dedicated her life to her family, friends, colleagues, and clients -- many of whom spent hours, days, and weeks at her hospital bedside to ensure that Christine knew just how loved she was (something that many of us only understand too late).

In lieu of flowers, we kindly request your financial support to help us cover the travel and medical-related expenses incurred during Christine's illness, as well as the costs associated with her memorial and estate services.
