In Loving Memory of Dave Colvin
Donation protected
My name is Lindsay Backe and I am the sister in law of David Colvin. David unexpectedly passed away on May 13, 2023. David was a loving husband to my sister Kim, and father to my niece Madeline. He was also a son, brother, uncle, friend, and teacher who touched the lives of everyone he met.
David's love for his family was immeasurable. He was a devoted husband to the love of his life, Kim, and a loving and doting father to his daughter, Madeline. Kim and Madeline were the center of his world and his face would light up whenever he spoke about them. David loved every moment spent with Madeline and found great joy in coaching her in softball. He was her biggest fan, cheering her on from the sidelines and providing guidance and encouragement both on and off the field. They shared a love for the game which created a special bond that will forever be cherished and remembered.
David followed in his mother’s footsteps and pursued a career in teaching, earning a degree from Kennesaw State University. He went on to teach at Fulton County’s Autry Mill Middle School and in Cherokee County’s Dean Rusk Middle School where he spent over 18 years teaching and inspiring countless students.
David leaves behind a community that has been forever touched by his kindness, passion, and unwavering love for his family, friends, and colleagues. His impact on the lives of everyone he knew will continue to resonate for years to come. Though his presence will be deeply missed, his spirit will live on through the memories and countless lives he has touched throughout his remarkable journey.
As you know, David leaves behind his beloved wife, Kim, and daughter, Madeline. I am putting together this Go Fund Me to help Kim and Madeline with the unexpected upcoming expenses as well as future needs for their family. In this difficult time, I am asking that you please provide any support you can.
