In Loving Memory of David Scott

It is with overwhelming sadness and a heavy heart, that we must inform you, David Scott, at the young age of 42, passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 30th, 2024.
David was loved and cherished by his family—his wife Leette, and his children, Branden (26), David, affectionately known as Popz (16), and Londyn (6) — and by many of us in the basketball community. David's laughter was contagious, and his sense of humor brought joy to everyone around him. He was a wonderful loyal son, grandson, friend, father, partner, brother, and uncle. David always kept it real and spoke his mind, endearing himself to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
David's commitment to his children was unwavering. His supportive role as a father was one to admire and inspire. He always made sure his children got to practice, training, and games or tournaments, whether in the GTA or across North America. No matter the province or state, and definitely no matter the cost, David would always show up to support his children and their teammates.
Driven by his passion for basketball, David was always helping somebody and made it his duty to make the lives of others easier. Although he was a natural coach to his children, he quickly became a coach to many children in the basketball community, guiding them not only in the sport but also in the game of life. When given the opportunity to follow his passion, David co-created Team Brotherhood, giving kids a platform to showcase their basketball talent. His presence touched the lives of many, and sadly, his absence will do the same.
We all can recall the moment we heard the tragic news of David’s passing and are all trying to figure out ways to help his beautiful family. Let's step up as a community and assist David’s family through this very difficult time of adjusting to life without him.
We know Leette is a dedicated wife and a very supportive mother who is more than capable of wearing many hats, but this will be a very challenging time for her because of her and David’s original plan to ride this journey together forever. She will have to take on many of the roles left vacant by David’s passing, and any assistance that can be provided to help her transition into her new life is greatly appreciated by her and the family.
David's legacy is one of love, dedication, and community. His children need our help to ensure that his legacy lives on through them. Branden, Popz, and Londyn will all face unique challenges in the wake of their father's passing, and this GoFundMe is crucial to providing the support they need to navigate this difficult period.
Please consider contributing to the GoFundMe for the Bottomley-Scott family and honor David’s memory by supporting those he loved most.
