In Loving Memory of Derek Leach: Help Us Honor His Life

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend, Derek Leach, on January 6, 2025, at his home in Yonkers. Derek was recently diagnosed with throat cancer in the summer of 2024, and he fought with immense strength and courage through a difficult and aggressive treatment. While the cancer was initially removed, it tragically returned soon after, and despite his best efforts, Derek was unable to keep fighting.

Derek was a devoted father to Erik, Shonae, and Solange, a proud grandfather, a loving brother to Dana, and a cherished uncle and cousin to many. He lived life on his own terms, with a free spirit and a heart full of love for those around him.

Unfortunately, due to his diagnosis, Derek was unable to obtain an affordable life insurance policy, leaving us with the difficult responsibility of covering the costs for his memorial and final arrangements.

We are reaching out to you, our friends, family, and community, to help us give Derek the memorial he deserves and ease the financial burden on his loved ones during this incredibly challenging time.
