We are establishing this Go Fund Me page in honor of Devon Madison. On Tuesday, March 5, 2024, we lost Devon to brain cancer after a multi year battle. Devon was a loving mom, wife, friend, sister, daughter, and educator. She is leaving behind her husband and long time partner, Ian, and their son Clark, just 4 years old.

Devon was an incredible person and a fighter to the end. In spite of the aggressive nature of this disease, losing Devon was a shock to all who knew her. She never waivered in her fight and optimism that she would beat this in spite of the odds against her.

To know Devon was to know the size of her heart. She cared deeply about not only those around her - making friends everywhere she went - but also the community in which she lived. She demonstrated her commitment to making a world a better place through her work as an educator and administrator in the Philadelphia School District, her part in building the Minds Matter of Philadelphia charity, and her ongoing connection to mentoring individuals she crossed through her time in these endeavors. She worked on causes outside of education as well - trying to always find new ways to give back and make the world a better place.

She was known for bringing people into her life and home. Putting together meals and events like her Friendsgiving celebration with the goal of helping people create connections and have a great time. She loved nothing more than a beautiful night on her roof deck where should could share drinks, snacks and good conversation with friends.

Devon was an individual full of ideas and ambition. I hope we can come together to continue to support her legacy by helping her family who she loved with all of her heart.

As Devon and Ian would want, the funds raised from this Go Fund Me will go towards support for Clark. In the immediate it will go towards expenses for a nanny and school expenses for him, and in the long term - something very dear to Devon - Clark's education.

Any little bit goes a long way. We appreciate your support of the Madison - MacKinnon family at this very tough time.
