In Loving Memory of Diego Christian

Diego Christian was a fixture of the Midtown ATL community he lived in. He was an adored pet-sitter, caring friend, and beloved family member and was well known by many Midtown residents for his huge smile, contagious laugh and charming accent.

There was not a day that went by that Diego did not bring joy and happiness to all those around him, including strangers and passersby he often met on the sidewalks of Midtown when he was walking the four-legged loves of his life.

Those that knew Diego knew that his animals meant the world to him. And his animals were the hundreds of dogs that he embraced as his own and took care of for so many of Midtown’s residents.

Diego was synonymous with what makes Midtown special and he brought joy to the lives of everyone and every dog he touched. Whether it was his bold fashion choices…his signature headphones and backpack…his friendly waves from his perch sitting upon the stoop outside of his building….EVERYONE KNEW DIEGO (maybe not by name but by sight).

Diego passed away tragically while doing what he loved, walking two of his favorite dogs on the Midtown sidewalks that made him a household name in Midtown.

Diego gave his life fully to the animals he cared for and dogs were his life. He has been credited for saving many dogs' lives. He was known to cook dinner nightly for the dogs he cared for. And apparently, his "chicken, yams + rice" was a favorite with many of Midtown’s four-legged friends.

As a result, Diego leaves behind a city full of family and friends (both two-legged and four-legged) who loved him dearly and will miss him immensely.

We are helping Diego’s family get the answers and closure they need and have started a Gofundme below to assist with any costs associated with his burial. A portion of these funds will also go to an animal charity that we will leave up to his friends to vote on and decide.
