In Loving Memory of Dominic Nocera

Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and community,

My heart is broken as we mourn the unimaginable loss of my beloved brother, Dominic Nocera. On the morning of May 12th, I received the most distraught phone call from my parents. My father had come home to find my brother at the bottom of our swimming pool. Dominic was rushed to Los Robles Hospital where he received care for the following week. He endured multiple seizures and was induced in a medical coma. After countless tests, his brain MRI results were devastating. The scans indicated more than 40% of his brain lost function due to the lack of oxygen from having drowned. On May 19th, Dominic passed away peacefully. At this time, we don’t have confirmation on the initial cause of this tragedy.

Dominic was born on March 31st, 2003. He was attending Moorpark College, where he studied kinesiology. Dominic loved the outdoors and nature. He would start his day sitting outside eating his breakfast while listening to the birds. He loved mountain biking with his friends, especially down Sycamore Canyon all the way to the beach. Dominic spent most of his time at the gym, as he was dedicated to working out and taking care of his body. He was the strongest, both physically and mentally, person I knew. He graduated from Thousand Oaks High School in 2021, where he played football all 4 years as a defensive end and linebacker.

Everyone who knew Dominic could see his bright light and deep care for others. He showed his creativity through his fashion, cooking, and photography. He went out of his way to befriend people. When others were in hardship, he never showed judgment. He was there, no questions asked. As his sister, I could confidently say I wouldn’t be who I am without him.

Dominic’s legacy is bound to stay alive. I am asking for your support to help my family during this difficult time. Any donation, big or small, will be greatly appreciated. Please share and let’s join together to celebrate Dominic’s life. Gone too soon. Thank you for your kindness, support, and prayers.

Rest easy Dominic, I will love you forever.

Funeral arrangements are still being made. All donations will be going to medical costs, funeral services, as well as, converting our pool into a beautiful garden to honor him.
