Irish Hospice Camino Walk in Loving Memory of Elaine Hanlon
Elaine and I met when I began working for her in her boutique, Frill, in Kilcullen. Elaine was not only my boss, she became a dear friend, a mentor and a source of endless kindness, humor and wisdom. Her impact on my life is something I carry with me everyday.
Elaine eventually moved to Dublin, where she continued to help others through her work in psychotherapy.
Elaine and I both got diagnosed with cancer around the same time. I feel incredible fortune to be cancer-free today. Sadly, Elaine lost her battle in January 2023. I’m walking in her memory with the hope of raising awareness and support for hospice care. Hospice care provides crucial support for those at the end of their journey and it’s a cause close to my heart.
This walk is for Elaine and for all those who need access to care, love and dignity in their final moments
