Tribute In Loving Memory of Elizabeth Gurrola

We are reaching out to the wider community to raise funds for funeral costs for our sister Elizabeth Gurrola. Our beloved Elizabeth was devastatingly and unexpectedly taken from us on August 12, 2020 by homicide at the young age of 24. As the youngest sister, she is survived by her loving family, including four sisters, mother, father, niece, and nephew. Elizabeth was an immensely special daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who brought light and an uplifting spirit to everyone she encountered. Elizabeth was such a centered, intelligent, giving, hard working, and beautiful human being.
She was a sweet, humble, and compassionate young woman with a bright future ahead of her. Elizabeth graduated with a Bachelors in Sociology and Spanish in 2018. At such a young age, she made it her purpose and dedicated her life to helping others. She had plans to start studying for graduate school exams to continue her education.
Elizabeth’s life was tragically lost to a cause she advocated for.
Elizabeth worked and volunteered in her community for many causes, including a nonprofit organization that provides humanitarian forms of relief for immigrant women, men, and children who are victims of crimes, domestic violence, abuse, and trafficking in northern Nevada.
We are all devastated by Elizabeth’s sudden death and were not prepared for the overwhelming loss, nor the cost of a funeral service. We want to honor Elizabeth, pay tribute to her memory and life’s work, and lay her to rest.
Please consider donating and sharing, as ANY and ALL amounts will truly help our family during this difficult time. We need to raise $20,000 in order to be able to afford funeral services and arrange her affairs. The costs of the funeral arrangements and handling her affairs is extraordinary given that we are bringing her back to her home state of California.
