In loving memory of Gilberte Stonehouse (Groom)

The Camille Lefebvre Long Term Care Facility is named after Camille Lefebvre, who was the first secular pharmacist to work in a hospital run by the Sisters of Providence. In 1972, he also became the first lay general manager of the hospital known as Lachine Hospital. This was a turning point in the history of the institution, which had been administered by nuns since its founding.

The long-term care pavilion opened in 1992, and in 1996 it became known officially as the Camille-Lefebvre Pavilion. It offers 134 single-patient rooms including 20 long-term respiratory patient beds. The year 2012 marked its 20th anniversary.

Its mission is to provide elderly who need it with accommodation, assistance, support, and surveillance services adapted to their needs. These care and services are provided by an interdisciplinary team that is committed to meeting all the care needs of the elderly being housed. More specifically, the pavilion aims to be a social living environment whose priority is to preserve an optimal quality of life for residents by promoting and maintaining their physical and cognitive abilities in order to promote, as much as possible, their autonomy.

The Camille-Lefebvre Pavilion offers quality long-term care for which it is already well-known. For Camille-Lefebvre elderly, this means not only comfort, but reassurance. The respect, warmth and attention that the staff shows the elderly creates a stimulating and pleasant atmosphere.
In loving memory of Gilberte Stonehouse(Groom), in lieu of flowers, we are raising funds to purchase much-needed equipment and/or furniture for the Camille Lefebvre Pavilion. Gilberte’s spirit and her care for others inspire us and we hope to honor her memory through this initiative. Any contribution, big or small, will make a difference in the lives of the elderly, their families as well as for the dedicated care teams taking care of them. Thank you for your generosity and support.
