In Loving Memory of Grace Misuraca

My heart is heavy as I share this devasting news with more of my family, friends, and community. I recently lost my beautiful 12-year-old niece, Grace Misuraca, in a devasting home fire. The parents, Tony and Angie, lost their daughter, loyal pets that wouldn’t leave Grace’s side, the family vehicle, and the entire home with all of their family belongings. My niece Faith, and her mother Angie, were thankfully not in the home. My brother managed to escape the fire through a window with some injuries. If it was not for the efforts of the Jerseyville Fire Department preventing him from reentering the home to save his little girl, we would be mourning the loss of him as well.
Grace was a gift to many and loved by her siblings, family, and friends. Her smile was infectious and she shared that with all of us throughout her daily life. She was a proud member of the cheerleading squad, a volleyball player, and a choir singer. She loved camping, four-wheeling, living on the farm, and making people laugh. We will all miss her so very much.
The unimaginable grief and profound loss our family is feeling is beyond words. Our family said goodbye for now and celebrated Grace’s life this past Sunday. The parents are now starting the daunting task of rebuilding their family lives.
I waited to create a GoFundMe campaign until we had a better understanding of what the family needed and what insurance would cover. We now know there will be a significant financial burden above and beyond what may be provided by the insurance company. Please consider donating to support the family as they rebuild their lives from the ground up. For those that already donated through other means, a much sincere thank you! I cannot express how much your kindness means to the Misuraca family. Please keep the parents, siblings, and extended family in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you,
On behalf of Grace’s parents
